Kiefer Sutherland Is Big Boss In Metal Gear Solid 5!

That’s right! Jack Bauer himself has been cast as Big Boss! Many of you may remember back a couple of months ago when David Hayter came forward stating he was no longer going to be the voice of Snake in the future Metal Gear Solid installments and fans everywhere gave a collective “WHAT?!?!?”

200

Even Hayter himself has been rather salty about the news. He has had some less than classy tweets lately and has been trolling Hideo Kojima and company about the recasting. Its been rather entertaining to watch, but it has come off as mean-spirited. Then again maybe they way he found out about the re-casting was mean-spirited. Who knows? All I’m aware of is that Hideo Kojima went on record as saying they wanted to bring in someone who could emote and carry the weight of Snake’s emotional delivery through facial expressions more so than actual words.

??????????????????????

I’m not saying David Hayter couldn’t have done it. Lets be honest with ourselves though. Kiefer Sutherland (24, Lost Boys) can act circles around David Hayter. On the flip side. Hayter can probably voice act circles around Sutherland. These are two very different forms of acting. I’ve seen A List Oscar award-winning actors and actresses turn in craptacular voice acting performances. It goes both ways though. Voice actors don’t always translate their talent to the screen acting.

One thing that does stick out is that the orignal japanese actor for Snake is still in place which does lead one to wonder what’s up with that, but hey… In Kojima I Trust. Here’s a video from the Konami pre-E3 press conference about the reveal. Check out and tell us what you think!
