From Doctor Who Companion To Guardians of the Galaxy!

Karen Gillan (who many may remember as Amy Pond on Doctor Who) has recently landed a role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film helmed by James Gunn. Better yet, she will be playing a villain in the movie! Not much information has been brought to light other than it will be a female lead villain role. Oddly enough she will be sharing the villain spotlight with Michael Rooker and Lee Pace.

The film is starting to pour on the star power and it looks like Marvel is really putting in the man hours to make sure this film has the tools and talent to blow audiences (both familiar and unfamiliar with the property) away. We recently made mention of Glenn Close joining the cast, and John C. Reilly looks like he’ll be sneaking in as well. We’ll also get to see Samuel L. Jackson reprise his role of Nick Fury and the main cast will be led by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista.

I;m really looking forward to this movie and even more so to Karen Gillan’s performance and who she’ll be playing. She’s got real acting chops and can play a wide range. Having been a stalwart companion on Doctor Who for sometime, she’ll most likely be right at home on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy. Any idea who she’ll be playing? Who else do you think will be cast?

Let us know what you think!
